Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 June 2026

1. Introduction

Chef Pauly Pty Ltd ("Chef Pauly", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Chef Pauly platform, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Service. This includes:

Account information — your name, email address, and business details when you register for an account.

Usage data — information about the features you use, pages you visit, and actions you take within the Service, collected automatically to help us improve the platform.

Payment information — billing and payment data processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details directly on our systems.

Business data — the dishes, recipes, catering jobs, guest information, and ingredient prices that you enter into the Service.

Communications — messages, support requests, and feedback you send to us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and improve the Service; to process your payments and manage your subscription; to send transactional emails relating to your account, billing, and product updates; to provide customer support; and to analyse aggregated usage patterns to improve the features we offer.

We do not use your business data — your recipes, dishes, pricing, or client information — to train AI models without your explicit consent. Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics may be used to improve the Service.

4. AI and Your Data

Chef Pauly includes AI-powered features, including the Kitchen Pulse AI, Invoice Chaser, and Content Ideas tools. When you use these features, relevant portions of your business data are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.

We send only the minimum data necessary to fulfil each AI request. We do not share your full account or billing information with Anthropic.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in Australia or the United States, depending on availability and performance requirements. Application hosting is provided by Vercel. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and business data for the duration of your account, and for 90 days following cancellation or termination of your account. After this period, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@chefpauly.com, subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain certain records.

7. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your data only as follows: with Supabase for database hosting and storage; with Stripe for payment processing; with Anthropic for AI feature processing; with Vercel for application hosting and delivery; and where we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or regulatory authority.

Any third-party service providers we engage are required to handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading. You may also request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@chefpauly.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and, in any event, within 30 days. If you are dissatisfied with our handling of your request, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to manage authentication sessions and keep you logged in to the Service. These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled without preventing you from using the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that share your data with external parties.

10. Contact and Complaints

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the way we handle your personal information, please contact us at hello@chefpauly.com.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
